Background

Andrea was 55 and was going through a divorce. She had recently left her job as a teacher and had a teacher’s pension.

Her ex-husband worked in financial services; Andrea was concerned that she didn’t have the knowledge to ensure she received a fair settlement.

What did we do?

Our Financial Planner James got to know Andrea, establishing what her goals were and helping to ease any fears she had.

James did a full analysis of her financial situation. Whilst Andrea was to keep the family home, it became clear that, if she were to simply take the money she received in the settlement as cash, she would run out. James recommended that Andrea invest the money to make it last.

James also helped Andrea update her will in light of the divorce.

The results

Andrea is now running her own business, which is now thriving.

She feels a lot more secure about her future after taking financial advice; she now has the freedom and confidence to enjoy life to the full.
